Brown Living is an Indian ecommerce marketplace aggregator for plastic free products. Founded by Chaitsi Ahuja with in 2019, it is India's first Plastic-free e-commerce platform and has over 1,35,000+ products.

Founded in 2019 by Chaitsi Ahuja with in Mumbai, Brown Living currently has over 1,35,000 products from over 550+ sellers across the country.[1] They cater to over 220 categories from travel to home and living, fashion, personal care, pet care among the many.[2] The platform curates products that are natural, sustainable, handmade, up-cycled, recycled, thrifted, earth-friendly, and are an alternative to plastics.[3] Brown Living claims that a part of their profits is invested in tree plantation to offset the carbon footprint generated through product.[4]

TThe Sellers on their platform uses the backend system to list the products on the platform’s website the sellers use the backend panel to control inventory and order fulfilment on their end.[5] The curation team asks the proper questions of creators, assesses products holistically, and employs a proprietary framework called ‘The Brown Lens’ to find the ideal products for a consumer.[6]

Brown Living claims that they were able to prevent 2,80,000+ kgs of plastic from ending up in landfills and the ocean, lessen the plastic footprint of over 70,000 consumers, and plant over 28,600+ trees across eight regions of India.[7]
