This category covers Royal Navy storeships i.e. those ships that supported the Royal Navy. This service would now be referred to as the logistical arm of the navy; the American equivalent being the Combat stores ships. The period covered is pre-1905. In that year the Royal Fleet Auxiliary was formed and took over the services provided by the storeships.
