Template:Citation defaults to citation style 2, but can output citation style 1 on either a template-specific basis with |mode=cs1 or a page-wide basis using {{CS1 config}}. Templates in this category may want to use |mode={{#invoke:Citation mode|main|cs1}} to set a default output of citation style 1, but instead obey {{CS1 config}} when it is present on the page.
