Proposing for deletion

[edit]

The redundancy - and potential vastness - of this category struck me when I saw it on Capilano Lake, which is one of BC's estimated, oh, maybe 5,000 lakes or so (major ones). Lakes in Switzerland and Norway are all also going to be all included, etc; there are already country/province/state lakes categories. This one seems to be vaguely defined - Titicaca is high-altitude but is not a "mountain lake" in the way the term is usually meant....I read through Wikipedia:Categories for deletion and it said to query the category talk page so that's why I'm here. I won't be around to follow through on this (I'm leaving wikipedia tomorrow because of life circumstances) but proposing it anyway; if all notable mountain lakes were in this category it would be HUGE, even just those in BC, AK, WA, CA, Switzerland and so on....and would be redundant with those varoius "lakes in" categories.Skookum1 22:17, 29 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
