I wish to identify the Russian Grand Duke who visited New Orleans in 1872. He is remembered locally as "Grand Duke Alexis", "Alexis of Russia", or "Alexis Romanoff". See Rex parade. The person discussed is clearly much too late to be Alexis I of Russia (where the link currently goes), and too early to be Alexei Nikolaevich, Tsarevich of Russia. On the Rex site there's a photo of him, identified as "Russia's Grand Duke Alexis Romanoff". I'd like to link to the actual appropriate person with name and title. Thanks for any help, -- Infrogmation (talk) 04:49, 5 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I think I figured it out-- must be Grand Duke Alexei Alexandrovich of Russia. -- Infrogmation (talk) 05:06, 5 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Royalty?!

[edit]

Since when is family of an Emperor/Empress called royal family?! This category should be called Russian imperialty, because Russia was never ruled by a King/Queen. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 87.250.116.18 (talk) 12:19, 21 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Not every royal is apart of the Imperial family. Besides, have you ever herard "Imperialty" in conversation? EmilySarah99 (talk) 12:13, 2 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
