The XD series is licensed, marketed, and sold in the US by Springfield Armory, but the guns themselves were invented, developed, and are still manufactured only in Croatia. I'm not sure they qualify as American semi-automatic pistols. 'Card21:38, 24 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
