Racing career

[edit]

Charlie Rudolph made five appearances in the NASCAR Cup Series in 1987, bringing Sunoco into the sport for the first time [5] He spent the majority of his career racing in the modified division, competing at the renowned tracks of the northeast, including Fonda NY, Riverside Park MA, Stafford CT, and Thompson CT.[3][6]

Rudolph won at least a dozen track championships including New York State venues Lancaster Speedway, Ransomville Speedway, Rolling Wheels Raceway, Spencer Speedway and Weedsport Speedway.[4][7] He was inducted into the New York State Stock Car Association Hall of Fame and the Northeast Dirt Modified Hall of Fame.[2][8][9]
