On November 4, 2023, at the naval air station INS Garuda in Kochi, India, a Chetak helicopter crashed during taxi maintenance, killing a ground crew member, Yogendra Singh.[1][2][3]

Chief of the Indian Navy, Admiral R Hari Kumar, issued a statement of condolence on behalf of all members. A Navy spokesman said a Board of Inquiry was ordered to investigate the cause.[1][2]
