Abodo Wood is a carbon-negative timber manufacturing family-owned company in New Zealand. Founded in 2001 by the Gudsell family,[1] the company is certified under the Forest Stewardship Council, New Zealand (FSC).[2]

Abodo Wood is headquartered in Māngere and Auckland, with over 70 employees.[3] The company partners with forest owners in New Zealand's North Island to ensure a consistent supply of certified logs.[4]

Materials

[edit]

Abodo uses Radiata Pine and Douglas fir, sourced from the Kaingaroa region, in New Zealand’s central North Island. The Kaingaroa Forest, is one of the largest man-made plantation forests in the southern hemisphere. Today the Kaingaroa Forest is managed by Timberlands, a global forest manager. Wood fibre from the Kaingaroa region is known for its medium density, and high consistency.[5]
