Reception
[edit]Billboard called it a "delightful disc" while going on to state that it "shows the magic circle of early-’60s Greenwich Village folk groups, from which evolved the legendary California folk-rock quartet."[1] AllMusic user Richie Unterberger stated that it was a "comprehensive overview of the Mamas & the Papas' roots" while going on to state that the album was "sometimes questionable" and "fascinating and at times musically fine document of the Mamas & Papas' tangled roots."[2]
