Boundless Learning is an online learning services provider based in the U.S. Kees Bol is the current chief executive officer (CEO) of the company.[1]
History
[edit]Boundless Learning goes back to 1995 when it was founded as Embanet Corp ato provide online learning services for postsecondary institutions.[2]
In December 2004, Embanet relocated to a new 53,000 square foot world headquarters to enhance its capabilities in hosting, 24/7 technical support, student retention, student acquisition, and accreditation.[3]
In 2010, Embanet merged with Orlando-based Compass Knowledge Group, which provided services such as market research, program marketing, student recruitment, and instructional design.[4] The merger was supported by Technology Crossover Ventures.[4] The combined entity was renamed as EmbanetCompass.[4]
In 2012, Pearson acquired EmbanetCompass for $650 million.[5] The acquisition allowed Pearson to expand its services in assisting colleges with the transition of their academic programs to online platforms.[5]
In 2023, Pearson Online Learning Services was separated from Pearson when it was acquired by Athena Education.[6][7][8] Following the acquisition, Pearson Online Learning Services was rebranded as Boundless Learning.[9]
Technology
[edit]Boundless Learning's technology has been used by Maryville University[10], Blavatnik School of Government[11], Bradley University[12], Hawaii Pacific University[13], Regis College[14], Duquesne University[15], University of Sussex[16], University of Southern California[17], Norwich University[18], University of California, Riverside[19], and Washington State University.[20]
