Carol Anne Freeling (born c. 1976) is the central character of Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer's Poltergeist franchise. Primarily portrayed by Heather O'Rourke, she was one of only two characters to appear in all films of the franchise, starting with 1982's Poltergeist.
Conception
[edit]Poltergeist was first conceived in the late 1970s as Night Skies. The first draft of the film's screenplay was co-written by Steven Spielberg with Michael Grais and Mark Victor.
