Dominic A. Murray was a student and basketball player at Farmingdale State College who collapsed and died during a basketball game due to sudden cardiac arrest(SCA) on October 5th, 2009.[1] This was caused by a Congenital heart defect that was not known about until it was too late.[1] He died at the age of 17, having only spent 7 weeks in college.[2] Time was not on his side, as those who surrounded him at the time of his death did not recognize the signs of cardiac arrest. Dominic had collapsed after performing a lay-up, and was said to be experiencing seizure like symptoms, such as gasping, gurgling, and seizure like motions.
