Submission declined on 10 September 2024 by Utopes (talk). This submission appears to read more like an advertisement than an entry in an encyclopedia. Encyclopedia articles need to be written from a neutral point of view, and should refer to a range of independent, reliable, published sources, not just to materials produced by the creator of the subject being discussed. This is important so that the article can meet Wikipedia's verifiability policy and the notability of the subject can be established. If you still feel that this subject is worthy of inclusion in Wikipedia, please rewrite your submission to comply with these policies.

EquityMultiple
[edit]EquityMultiple is a United States-based real estate investment company offering commercial real estate investments to accredited investors through an online crowdfunding platform. Founded in 2015, the company is headquartered in Manhattan, New York City.[1]
History
[edit]EquityMultiple was established in 2015 by Charles Clinton, a former real estate attorney at Simpson Thacher & Bartlett, and Marious Sjulsen, who worked in the private equity field.[2][3]
In 2018, EquityMultiple secured venture funding from a group of real estate and finance professionals, including Kenneth Pasternak, co-founder of Knight Capital Group.[4] The same year, the company partnered with real estate developer Youngwoo & Associates to launch an investment fund dedicated to Opportunity Zone investments.[5][6]
In 2021, EquityMultiple reported closing $115 million in new investments.[7] In 2022, EquityMultiple received an investment from Larson Capital Management.[8] That year, the company transitioned from Regulation D 506(b) to 506(c) under U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission regulations.[9]
In 2023, EquityMultiple formed a partnership with Marcus & Millichap, a commercial real estate brokerage firm.[10][11][12][13][14] In January 2024, Marcus & Millichap made an equity investment in EquityMultiple.[15] The partnership also coincided with the formation of EquityMultiple Investment Partners (EMIP), focusing on the supply side of the platform.[16]
Business model and services
[edit]EquityMultiple operates an online platform open exclusively to accredited investors. The platform's investment offerings include single-property investments, funds, and short-term notes backed by real estate.[9]
EquityMultiple Investment Partners (EMIP)
[edit]EquityMultiple Investment Partners (EMIP) is a subsidiary of EquityMultiple originating private equity and private credit investments for middle-market commercial real estate sponsors and developers, which are then offered on the EquityMultiple platform.[17][18]
Corporate affairs
[edit]Charles Clinton serves as the CEO of EquityMultiple.[1] The company employs an investment team responsible for conducting due diligence on potential investments.[1]
