Esutori Subprefecture
[edit]The Esutori Subprefecture was one of the subprefectures of the Karafuto Prefecture . The subprefecture's location was Esutori Town .
History
[edit]- January 1940 : Established from a part of the Tomari Branch Office . It has jurisdiction over Ujo District , Nayoshi District , and part of Hisashunnai District .
- November 1942 - Ujo District, part of Hisashunnai District , and part of Nayoshi District merged to form Esutori District . The jurisdiction of the district is divided into two districts, Esutori District and Nayoshi District.
- April 1 , 1943 : The "Matter Concerning Exceptions to Laws Enforced in Sakhalin" was abolished, and Sakhalin was incorporated into the mainland .
- August 22 , 1945 – Occupied by the Soviet Union .
- June 1, 1949 - Due to the enforcement of the National Administrative Organization Law, the Karafuto Prefecture was legally abolished. On the same day, the Esutori Branch Prefecture was abolished.
