Gamezop is a plug-and-play gaming platform that allows apps and websites to integrate casual games directly into their platforms without requiring users to download individual apps for each game.[1] Founded in 2015 by brothers Yashash Agarwal and Gaurav Agarwal, the company is headquartered in Gurugram, India. Gamezop has expanded its offerings to include Quizzop, a quiz platform; Astrozop, which provides astrology content; and Criczop, a cricket-focused content platform.[2][3]

The company operates on a B2B2C distribution model, partnering with apps and websites to distribute Gamezop, Quizzop, and their other products. App / web developers are offered a 50% share of advertising revenue generated from the users that they send to Gamezop's products.[4]

As of 2023, Gamezop’s products are integrated with over 8,000 apps and websites across 70 different countries. Notable partners include Amazon, Samsung, Tata Play, Times Internet, and AccuWeather. The platform is designed to enhance user engagement and provides opportunities for advertising revenue generation.

History

[edit]

Gamezop was founded in 2015 by brothers Yashash Agarwal and Gaurav Agarwal. The idea for Gamezop originated from Yashash's observations about the inefficiency of downloading apps for casual gaming. Gamezop solves this by embedding HTML5 games directly into apps and websites, which allows users to play games seamlessly without needing separate app installations.[5]

In developing Gamezop, the company adopted HTML5 technology to ensure games could be played seamlessly across different devices and platforms. Gaurav Agarwal, who had previously worked at Bain & Company, joined Yashash in building the company, contributing his experience to the company's business strategy.

Since its founding, Gamezop has grown into a multi-platform service, expanding to include Quizzop, Astrozop, and Criczop catering to diverse content needs beyond gaming.[6]

Products

[edit]

Gamezop has expanded its range of services with additional platforms. The core platform offer 250+ wide range of HTML5 casual games across various categories, including action, puzzle, sports, and arcade, among others. [7] Gamezop's platform is integrated into various apps and websites, offering their users access to a wide range of online games. The platform is designed for compatibility across devices and aims to be easily integrated into existing ecosystems.

Quizzop is an online quiz platform featuring quizzes across multiple categories, including general knowledge, entertainment, sports, and science. The platform also actively maintains a blog where users can explore content related to pop culture and other events of global significance.[8][9]

Astrozop: offers astrology services including horoscopes, love compatibility, fortune-cookie readings, and tarot readings. Like Gamezop and Quizzop, Astrozop is also offered as a plug-and-play integration to apps and websites.[10]

Criczop: Launched in 2023, this platform delivers live cricket scores, matches, commentary, latest news & trending content related to cricket.[11]

Through its products, Gamezop claims to help apps and websites drive additional user-engagement, as well as unlock a new revenue stream via their advertising-revenue sharing program.

Of the nearly 400 million Indians who played mobile games that year, 272 million also engaged with Gamezop owing to their innovative model that embeds games in partner apps rather than taking a B2C distribution approach.[31][32] The company reported an annual revenue run rate of ₹21 crore (approximately $2.8 million) in 2020, reflecting a 165% year-on-year growth.[33]

In 2021, Gamezop reported driving over 650 million minutes of engagement on MX Player through its integrated gaming section, featuring popular titles like Escape Run and Tower Twist as part of a collaboration to enhance user interaction on the OTT platform.[34][35]

By 2023, Gamezop had partnered with over 8,000 apps, including major platforms like Samsung and Times of India, driving up to 40% higher user engagement on these apps.[38][39]

In 2024, Gamezop expanded footprint internationally, setting up offices in Bahrain to grow its partner-based distribution model in the MENA region.[40]

Gamezop’s platform is built on HTML5 technology, allowing it to deliver cross-platform compatible games that work across various devices.[41] This technology ensures smooth gameplay, even in areas with low bandwidth. Additionally, the company leverages AWS for scaling its cloud infrastructure to meet user demands. Gamezop works with various programmatic ad networks to sell its inventory across multiple regions and various ad formats.

The company has also developed a Javascript SDK that allows HTML5 game developers to integrate their games with Gamezop to grow their distribution on the Gamezop partner network, while maintaining app performance and compatibility across devices.

Funding
