Dr. Gary Linkov is a facial plastic surgeon in New York with expertise in cosmetic surgery and hair restoration. He was born on November 12, 1989, in Kiev, Ukraine. In 1992, Gary's parents left Ukraine and came to America. Dr. Linkov is certified by the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and the American Board of Otolaryngology-Head & Neck Surgery.[1]

Education and Specialization

Dr. Gary Linkov graduated as a salutatorian from Cornell University with a focus on psychology. Alongside his studies, he pursued advanced training in painting, sketching, and sculpture, including a scholarship in Florence, Italy. He earned his medical degree from Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons. During medical school, Dr. Linkov conducted head and neck cancer research at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center and volunteered as an art therapist. He also led Smile Train efforts, helping children with cleft lips and palates.

Dr. Linkov completed his head and neck surgery residency at the Temple Head and Neck Institute, serving as chief resident in his final year. He then pursued an American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery-accredited fellowship at Washington University in St. Louis, where he also served as a clinical instructor. During this time, he directed the St. Louis Veterans Affairs Facial Plastic Surgery Clinic, performing reconstructive surgeries for veterans.[2]

Dr. Linkov developed several new procedures in facial plastic surgery, including the Elelyft™ lip lift, which he taught to other surgeons around the world. He is also known for his advanced hair restoration techniques, which include follicular unit extraction (FUE), follicular unit transplantation (FUT), and eyebrow and beard transplants.

He has been recognized for his work and was named one of the top three plastic surgeons among reconstructive and body modification surgeons in the US by USA Today. Dr. Linkov has been featured in several national publications, including Allure, New York Magazine, and HuffPost, and has appeared on The Oz Show.[3]

Dr. Linkov has published numerous articles and reviews on plastic surgery and hair transplantation. One of his notable articles, focusing on FUE and FUT hair transplants, was published in the “Journal of Aesthetic Surgery.”

He has also presented at various conferences, including international symposia on hair transplantation, where he discussed topics such as hairline restoration and facial aesthetic surgery.

Dr. Linkov is a member of the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (AAFPRS) and the International Society of Hair Restoration Surgery (ISHRS).[4]

He also started the brand Feel Confident, an organization whose objectives are to advance the aesthetics industry by supplying high-quality skincare and haircare products, educating people about a range of aesthetic subjects, and assisting them in finding the best aesthetic specialists.[5]
