Jay Edmond Cruise (born October 13 1966 - died July 4 2000) or shortly Jay Cruise was an English journalist and reporter. He was best known for his interferences with the police department of Leicester in the early 90s (1992 - 1997) where he reported many crime scenes and wrote references about the 'Criminals nowadays' book that became later known.

Early Life

Jay Edmond Cruise was born in Newfoundpool, Leicester on October 13 1966. His parents were Sarah Cruise (mother) and Bob Cruise (father). Jay did not had any brothers or sisters.

Jay graduated to University of Leicester in 1984. After his university years ended, he studied journalism.

Citizen Journalism

After Jay ended his university years, he studied journalism where he learned about following the daily news and publishing newspapers.

Around year 1990, Jay published his first newspaper for the Neightbourhood news, which it was a weekly newspaper publishing brand. He continued working for this company until 1992.

In late 1992, Jay was invited to work for a once-case at the police department of Leicester for criminal investigations where he had to report the criminal case conclusion and publish a newspaper about the case. After police evaluated his work, they came on a decision to sign Jay Cruise at their department. He worked at the department for 5 years (ended in 1997). His best crime case reported happened in 1995, about a woman (aged 27) who commited suicide using a belt to hang herself in the factory where she worked.

Personal Life

Jay was married with Lyla Cruise. They did not have any child.

Jay did not have many friends because of his trust issues and he was mostly a shy person, according to one of his friends. He was also diagnosticated with CTE in 1996.

After Jay left the police department of Leicester for finding a new job, he moved to London where he worked at a restaurant in center of Redbridge.

Death

Jay was found dead in his house on July 17 2000, in Redbridge, London. The police of Redbridge investigated the cause of his death,and later it was revealed that he commited suicide by cutting his throat with a kitchen knife. The autopsy report also revealed that he commited the suicide on July 4 but his body was found on July 17.

One of Jay's friend mentioned: "Jay was always a shy man, and did not want to talk with me much. One month before his death, I found out he was starting to consume alcohol. Oh, and another important thing, he was diagnosticated with CTE, as he told me."

In November 2000, The police investigators closed his case after a lawsuit was admitted in October.In that month,the police also found a suicide note, saying: "I am sorry that I have made this world more cruel than it was already!". He was only 33 years old at the time of his death.
