Kalatan Dasgupta
Kalatan Dasgupta(কলতান দাশগুপ্ত) is a prominent figure in West Bengal Youth politics, particularly known for his leadership and contributions to the “Justice for Tilottoma movement”. His career is marked by a deep commitment to leftist ideology and a significant role in shaping the leftist student politics landscape of West Bengal during a tough time of CPIM.
Born into a period of considerable social and political upheaval, Dasgupta’s early experiences were instrumental in shaping his political outlook. His academic and ideological journey led him to the CPIM, where he quickly became a notable voice in the party. He is currently secretariat member of DYFI West Bengal State Committee and Editor of the DYFI magazine Yuvashakti.
On 14 September 2024 he was arrested by West Bengal Police for allegedly criminal conspiracy against the Government of West Bengal by staging an attack against the protestor junior doctor in “Justice for Tilottoma”. This arrest has strongly condemned by CPIM leadership and claimed to be false.
