Draft:Linus Tolke

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
  • Comment: Pretty much the same reason why Zxcvbnm rejected it prior. This article doesn't seem to pass WP:NBIO, and citing Wikipedia is not acceptable per WP:UGC. I also don't think it's a good idea for a draft article with active CS1/ref tag errors and a citation needed to be put into mainspace. λ NegativeMP1 05:47, 2 September 2024 (UTC)

Per Eskil Linus Tolke, born 15 January 1966, is a Swedish systems architect.[1][2]

Linus Tolke studied at the Institute of Technology at Linköping University 1985–1994. At university, he was active in its academic computer club Lysator. An association which created "Spinner", the first Swedish website in 1993.

In 1991, Linus Tolke created SvenskMud, a Swedish version of the text-based multiplayer real-time virtual world Multi-user dungeon.[3][4]

In early 2001, subsequent to the founding of the original Wikipedia in English, Jimmy Wales was in e-mail contact with Linus Tolke about a possible Swedish language version, with decision made around April 2001.[5] Swedish Wikipedia went online on sv.wikipedia.com 23 May 2001 as Wikipedia's 4th[citation needed] language version.[6][7][8] The initial prototype "Phase I" UseModWiki software for sv.wikipedia.com was translated in May 2001 by Linus Tolke, who also tested around with a few short articles, before the contemporary "Phase III" MediaWiki for sv.wikipedia.org went online in November 2002.[9]

Tolke has also been active as an amateur radio operator.[1]
