Beat's videos primarily cover American politics and history. Beat also maintains a secondary channel, The Beat Goes On, discussing musical topics, for instance Pink Floyd.[3]

Personal life

[edit]

Beat currently resides in Lawrence, Kansas, and has left his original teaching profession to pursue a YouTube career.[5] Prior to becoming a YouTuber, Beat taught various subjects from grades 7 to 12.[6] Beat petitioned in 2015 for former President Barack Obama to visit the school he teaches at,[7] but was not successful. Beat has a brother, Steven, with whom he maintains a third channel, Electric Needle Room.[8]
