Park Grange Croft is a tram stop on the South Yorkshire Supertram network, opened on 1 December 2001.[1] It is located in a reserved off-road tram-only section adjacent to Park Grange Road in the Norfolk Park area. It is also near the Discovery Academy, and is opposite to Park Grange Croft, its namesake.

In the northbound direction, the line uses a viaduct to travel over Park Grange Road to Granville Road stop. Just south of the stop, the line merges onto Park Grange Road and shares it with other road traffic.

History

[edit]

This stop was opened on the section between Fitzalan Square and Halfway/Herdings Park just over six years after the line fully opened in 1995.[2] The stop was opened as it serves an area which was undergoing redevelopment at the time. The tram stop was intended to provide better public transport access to residents and support the area’s regeneration efforts.

Layout

[edit]

Park Grange Croft tram stop has two low-level side platforms, and the platform furthest away from the road is accessible via pedestrian tram crossings from Park Grange Road.

At the centre of each platform, passenger information displays stand and show estimated arrival times for trams. There are also two short ramps at each end of the platforms, providing step-free access for passengers.

Services

[edit]

The Blue route has a peak frequency of 5 trams per hour (every 12 minutes), and the Purple route runs hourly Monday−Saturday and every 30 minutes (peak frequency) on Sundays.
