Draft:Revolt of the Buriad people

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Buriat People's Uprising, also known as the 1927 Buryat Uprising (Russian: Буриатское восстание (1927)) refers to the uprising of the Buriads against the Soviet government of the time. The uprising was bloodily suppressed by the forces of the Soviet Union's Red Army. There is very little information about the uprising, and there are reports that as many as 35,000 Buriyas were killed. After the suppression of the uprising, the Buryats were fleeing to Mongolia in large numbers.

After the suppression of the rebellion, the repression against the Buryats began to intensify, and by 1929, a total of 35,000 people were repressed, which is comparable to the total number of intellectuals of the Buryats at that time. The figures of the Buryats affected by Stalin's Great Repression are currently not public.
