[edit]Before 2022, he played for the youth sides of his hometown club, Albacete Balompié.
Barcelona:
[edit]On July 29th, 2022, Cantero signed for Barcelona, initially being assigned to the u19 squad (Juvenil A). He played some games in the 2022-23 UEFA Youth League, before being promoted to Barcelona Atlètic, the club’s reserve side, the following season.
Loan to CD Calahorra:
[edit]After being promoted, he was loaned to fellow Segunda Federación side CD Calahorra on August 15th, 2023. He was assigned the #3 jersey, and played a total of 32 games for the club. He was an integral player for the club, earning the “Man of the Match” award four times, including against CD Brea.
