Production
[edit]Development
[edit]In June 2018, prior to the release of Sicario: Day of the Soldado, producer Trent Luckinbill stated that a third film is in early development.[1] In September 2023, producers Basil Iwanyk and Erica Lee confirmed that the project is still in development. While the project had been met with some delays, the producers stated that the ongoing work on the script, would continue once the film business strikes of 2023 were resolved.[2] In October 2023, Christopher McQuarrie was confirmed to be involved in the third film, with producers saying the script was nearly complete.[3][4]
Filming
[edit]In February 2021, it was stated that del Toro and the film's producers had tentative plans for production to commence later that year; while the title was revealed to be Sicario: Capos.[5] Despite its various delays, the producers stated in September 2023 that the current work on the script would once again commence following the 2023 WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes.[2]
