Sotipura, also known as Central or Standard Maithili, is the main dialect of Maithili language, mainly spoken in the Mithila region of India and Nepal.
Territory and speakers
[edit]Sotipura dialect is spoken mainly spoken in Darbhanga, Samastipur, Saharsa districts of Bihar, India. It has 22 million speakers according to the 2024 estimated.
