[edit]Future
[edit]In September 2020, McG announced plans for a third film, with the story already written. The filmmaker however stated that whether it gets made, depends on the reception of Killer Queen.[1] McG explained that the third movie, will reveal answers to plot-threads from the previous two installments that are left unanswered.[2] The filmmaker elaborated that he's always envisioned a trilogy, with the first installment exploring adolescent Cole's feelings with being enamored with his babysitter, the second movie detailing his high school explorations of love, and a third movie completing the plot thread.[3]
In November 2023, McG confirmed that work on the third installment is ongoing. The filmmaker also expressed interest in once again introducing a rising star to the horror genre; referring to his role in introducing Weaving and Ortega in the first and second installments, respectively.[4]
