Thomas Knox and T. P. Knox should link here

Thomas P. Knox was a doctor in the United States who aided fugitive slaves and "contraband", escaped slaves during the Civil War. He served in the U.S. Army treating freedmen in South Carolina during the Civil War. He wrote a scathing account of a relief organization for freedmen he accused of fraud. His wife Angelina J. Knox was a well known abolitionist and inventor. Thomas Patterson Knox (1796-1871)?[1][2] Son of Richard Knox.[3]

His home at 29 Myrtle Street in Boston is an Underground Railroad site.[4]

He worked for the Army treating freed slaves in South Carolina. He wrote about his firing and a relief organization, National Freedman's Relief Association, he accused of being fraudulent.[5][6] Thomas Wentworth Higginson defended Brigadier General R. Saxton.[7] Thomas Knox' wife Angelina J. Knox wrote a poem about his incarceration.[8]

He was accused of being an extremist and stirring "Negro opposition to white leaders" in the Republican Party.[7]

He described appalling conditions of freemen on Coosaw Island, Coru Island, "Ladies' Island" and St. Helena Island including a lack of clothing and smallpox. His account was published in the Anglo-African newspaper.[8]

He and his wife are noted here [1] in a book but I can't see what page 209 and the others say.
