Verdical Group is a leading green building consulting firm in Los Angeles.[1] They specialize in green building certifications and project management, engineering services and sustainable event production.[2] The name “Verdical” is derived from the Latin root for “green” and is a play on words for “vertical”, signifying the increased value created through green building strategies.[3]
Drew Shula, who also currently serves as the company's CEO,[4] founded Verdical Group in 2012 out of his Pasadena garage.[5] It has now grown to a company of 20 employees[6] with notable clients such as NASA, Google, Johnson & Johnson, LAX, and GE.[7]
The company is headquartered at downtown Los Angeles's La Kretz Innovation Campus,[8] which has many sustainability features and is a LEED Platinum and WELL Gold certified building.[9]
Verdical Group hosts the Net Zero Conference, the largest event dedicated to net zero energy, decarbonization, and climate resilience[10], as well as the Trailblazer Awards, annually in the Los Angeles area.[11]
Verdical Group has been a certified B Corporation since 2017 and a 1% for the Planet member company since 2013.[12] It is also a Benefit Corporation, Certified Small Business, Green Business, and Social Enterprise.[13] In 2021, Verdical Group officially offset their entire historical carbon footprint back to the company’s founding in 2012, plus 10%, to go beyond net zero and become a carbon-positive company.[14]
