The Wauponsee Glacial Trail is a 22-mile-long (35 km) public rail trail in Will County within the U.S. state of Illinois. It consists of two different segments. The northern segment, approximately 2.8 miles (4.5 km) long, is paved and extends from Joliet to the Sugar Creek Preserve; the southern segment, with a crushed-limestone surface, is 19.6 miles (31.5 km) long, extending from the Sugar Creek Preserve to Custer Park on the Kankakee River.[1][2] Parts of the trail were set to be paved in 2024.[3]

The trail is named for a prehistoric lake that previously covered the lake more than 13,000 years ago.[4][5] Portions of the trail pass through bison grazing areas.[4][6]
