William J. Smith (Arkansas politician) should point here.

William Jennings Smith (October 14, 1908[1] – May 2, 2000) was a justice of the Arkansas Supreme Court in 1958.

Born in Sturgeon, Missouri.

After James D. Johnson defeated Minor W. Millwee in the latter's bid for reelection to the supreme court, Millwee resigned, and Smith was appointed to serve the remainder of Millwee's term.
