Yevgeny Vladimirovich Lukyanov (Russian: Евгений Владимирович Лукьянов; born 10 December 1951), is a Russian politician and diplomat who had served as the ambassador to Belarus from 2021 to 2022.
He also served as the ambassador to Latvia from 2016 to 2021.
He also served as the Deputy Secretary of the Security Council of the Russia from 2012 to 2016.
Lukyanov had also served as the Deputy Plenipotentiary Representative of the North-western Federal District from 2007 to 2010.
Biography
[edit]Yevgeny Lukyanov was born in Leningrad on 10 December 1951.
In the mid-1960s he lived in Brest.
In 1974 he graduated from Leningrad State University named after A. A. Zhdanov with a degree in English Language and Literature.
He can speak English and French.
From 1974 to 1981, he was a translation engineer at the Impulse Research Institute.
Fro 1981 to 1984, he was the Deputy Secretary of the Board of the Leningrad Branch of the Union of Journalists of the USSR.
From 1984 to 1990, he worked as a diplomat at the USSR Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
From 1987 to 1990, he was deputy representative of the USSR Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Leningrad.
From 1990 to 1991, he was deputy director for External Relations of the State Hermitage Museum.
From 1991 to 1993, he was the Vice-Rector of the International Institute for Development and Training of Banking and Exchange Activities on issues of external financing and international relations.
From 1993 to 2006, he held senior positions at CJSC Dresdner Bank and OJSC Vneshtorgbank in Saint Petersburg.
From September 2006 to June 2007, he was the Head of the Department of Socio-Economic and Financial Monitoring of the Office of the Plenipotentiary Representative of the Northwestern Federal District.
In June 2007, Lukyanov became the Deputy Plenipotentiary Representative of the Northwestern Federal District, overseeing the socio-economic sphere.
On 26 December 2010, he became the Assistant Secretary of the Security Council of Russia.
On 23 March 2012, he was the Deputy Secretary of the Security Council of the Russia.[1][2][3]
On 15 December 2016, Lukyanov became the ambassador to Latvia.[4][5] He presented his credentials on 7 February 2017.[6]
From 25 March 2021, he was the ambassador to Belarus.[7] He presented his credentials on 13 May 2021.[8]
On 14 January 2022, he was replaced by Boris Gryzlov.[9]
