Zerops is a cloud platform as a service company based in the Czech Republic. [1] A Dev-first PaaS that builds, deploys, runs, and manages apps. [2]
It was initially an internal tool used by VSHosting, then later shut down in late 2023. The platform was relaunched in May 2024 as a PaaS competing with other platforms like Render, Fly.io, Heroku, and DigitalOcean. [3]
History
[edit]Zerops was mainly founded by Aleš Rechtorík (CEO) and Jan Saidl (CTO), along with other members of the VSHosting team. [4]
Originally founded in 2018, Zerops began as an internal project within vshosting.eu, the largest Central European provider of managed hosting services. As VSHosting continued to grow globally, Zerops became a less significant focus within the organization, leading to its shutdown in late 2023. [5]
A year later, the original development team, backed by Presto Ventures and Gi21, proudly took ownership of Zerops and relaunched the platform. [2]
Zerops raised $500k from Presto Ventures and Gi21 Capital while maintaining a strategic partnership with VSHosting's global parent company, Contabo Group (part of the KKR portfolio since 2022). [6]
Zerops' tech stack includes Golang, Angular, and LXC. [5]
