FYI, last year, I had done a bunch of research on a draft for this article. I just haven't been motivated to write these sorts of articles lately. Feel free to take anything from it and add it - I had a decent number of ideas and sources found, I just never got around to writing it out. It's at User:Sergecross73/2006 in rock. Per this discussion, the article has been moved to the WP:DRAFT space because it's currently too incomplete. You may still continue to work on it as a draft until it's ready to be published though. My offer to use content from my draft remains. I even give permission to create the article from my draft version instead too, if you find that easier. My current draft is created in the same way that I started all of the other "years in rock music" articles out there, so I can assure you that it's "on the right track".
