In ancient times, the Shugendō religion flourished in this area, and Sozen-ji Temple [ja] still retains items associated with Taichō (shugendō monk).

Currently, There is a IOX-AROSA Ski Resort [ja] on the east side of the mountain.

Notes

[edit]
  1. ^ The reading for 山, mountain, is indeed 'zen' rather than the usual 'san'
