Mark Diamond is an Australian lawyer, former National Secretory of Rail Tram and Bus Union (RTBU) and trade unionist.[1][2][3][4][5][6][7][8][9][10]
Career
[edit]Mark Diamond's career in RTBU was marked by his role as National Lawyer and promotion to the position of National Secretary in 2019,[2][11] succeeding Bob Nanva.[1][12] Diamond resigned from RTBU on June 29, 2024.[13][14][15][16]
Achievements
[edit]In 2019, Diamond overhauled the board of private health fund RT Health, culminating in its merger with HCF, for the benefit of union members and stakeholders.[7] Diamond advised the Premier, Dominic Perrottet to seek guidance from his predecessor,[8] Gladys Berejiklian, to resolve labor disputes.[2][9][12][17][18][19] Diamond's role in policy advocacy included confrontational and constructive interactions, such as his encounter with the NSW Premier regarding threats to revoke a pay deal for railway workers.[2][12][17] In 2023, Diamond led the acquisition of Training Ahead Australia, a not-for-profit organization providing workplace training in the rail industry.[11][13][14][16][20][21][22]
