Midstream is a 1929 American sound part-talkie science fiction film directed by James Flood and starring Ricardo Cortez, Claire Windsor, and Montagu Love.[1] In addition to sequences with audible dialogue or talking sequences, the film features a synchronized musical score and sound effects along with English intertitles. The soundtrack was recorded using the Tiffany-Tone sound-on-film system using RCA Photophone equipment.

[edit]The film features a theme song entitled "Midstream" with lyrics by L. Wolfe Gilbert and music by Abel Baer.
Preservation
[edit]According to the American Silent Feature Film Database, a complete copy of the film exists in an unspecified foreign archive.[2] One reel of the film, featuring a performance of the opera Faust was included as an extra on the 2 DVD set of The Phantom of the Opera (1925), released by the Milestone Collection.[3]
