Daniella Daniel Ibinabo (born March 13, 2004), known professionally as Morravey, is a Nigerian singer and songwriter. Born and raised in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, she began her musical career in 2022 posting freestyles online. She gained major recognition in late 2024 with her song "Ifineme".[4]

Early life

Daniella Daniel Ibinabo was born on March 13, 2004, in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.[5] She is the oldest of five siblings and the first daughter of her parents.[6] From a young age, Daniella began performing at local events, church choirs, and school functions.[7]

Career

Morravey's career began in 2022 when she started posting freestyles online, catching the attention of Nigerian singer Davido.[8][9] In 2023, Morravey signed with Davido's Davido Music Worldwide (DMW).[10]

Following the release of Davido's album Timeless on March 30, 2023,[11] Morravey gained widespread recognition after being featured on the track "In The Garden".[12][13] Morravey performed at the Glitch Africa Sessions in May 2023.[14]

On November 2, 2023, Morravey released her debut extended play, RAVI, featuring a guest appearance from Davido.[15][16] Reviewing for Pulse Nigeria, Adeayo Adebiyi gave the EP a 7/10 rating.[17] RAVI charted on Apple Music's Albums chart in various countries, peaking at No. 4 in Nigeria, No. 6 in Cameroon, and No. 97 in the UK.[18][19]

Morravey was named Apple Music's Latest Act on November 7, 2023.[20] On December 15, 2023, she released the official music video for her song "Magician". The track is featured on her debut EP.[21]

Morravey released the official music video for her song "Condo" on May 15, 2024.[22] On September 5, 2024, Morravey was featured on DJY Wagner Musiq's "What is Love" (Remix).[23] Later that month, on September 27, she released "Ifineme" through SM Entertainment West Africa Limited.[24][25] Capping off the month, Morravey was named one of Billboard's Afrobeats Fresh Picks on September 30, alongside notable artists Oxlade, Fireboy DML, and Mofe.[26]
