Robert M. Schertzer FRCSC (born 4 February 1962) is a Canadian ophthalmologist with a subspecialty in glaucoma treatment.[1][2][3] He currently serves as the Clinical Associate Professor of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences at the University of British Columbia.[4]

Education

Schertzer graduated with a BSc in Physiology from McGill University in 1983 and an MD from the Dalhousie University in 1988. He completed his Ophthalmology residency at McGill University in 1994 and obtained a glaucoma fellowship at Dartmouth in 1996. He graduated with an MEd in Adult Education at the University of British Columbia in 2006.[5]

Career

Schertzer is a Clinical Associate Professor of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences at the University of British Columbia. He had previously served as Clinical Assistant Professor at the University of Michigan in 1996-1999, University of British Columbia in 1999-2007 and 2008-2013 and Geisel School of Medicine in 2013-2018.

Schertzer serves as a member on the Health Data Coalition Board of Directors.[6]

Schertzer became a Fellow of The Royal College of Surgeons of Canada in 1994.[7]
