• It was still in this district at the time of the German invasion as part of the 22nd Army and began moving west by rail, joining the Western Front when it arrived at the fighting front well to the north of Polotsk. over-complicated sentence, rephrase

• Historians such as Glantz use unit names without the "the" before the unit name

• Are the places mentioned in the Operation Kutuzov section too small to warrant articles? If so, simplify this down to the direction of attack and the planned depth of attack. You do this a lot in the later sections as well.
