Notability Dispute.

[edit]

I saw the notability tag added to this article. Personally I would disagree, I think it meets the notability requirements. It was a reasonably large strike. The strike involved atleast +1,200 workers and led to the deployment of 1,400 of the Illinois National Guard. As a transit strike, at a time when that was one of the primary mode of transit it had large impacts. It's also was celebrated by the city a 100 years later and there is plenty of newspaper documentation on the strike from the time. So I think it meets notability requirements and is a lot more notable then many other articles that are allowed. LoomCreek (talk) 17:52, 9 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

One less important aspect is that it involves two different historically significant figures within it. It cant be neatly fit under either of their pages. I think it deserves to be a standalone page. LoomCreek (talk) 19:02, 9 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I've since removed the notice since I've added some extra sources to show the notability of the topic and also the lack of response on the talk page. LoomCreek (talk) 01:37, 10 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
