Strongest storm

Reanalysis
[edit]I noticed the updates, but the following should be the listed pressures:
Storm 1 - 987 mbar, based on the 70 kt winds at the time of the two 994 measurements (the rule of thumb is to knock 1 mb off for every 10 kt).
Storm 2 - 1012 mbar, based on the 35 kt winds at the time of the 1015 measurement (lowest while tropical).
Storm 3 - 1002 mbar, based on land obs (no closer measurements or wind data).
Storm 4 - 990 mbar, based on the 60 kt winds at the time of the 996 measurement.

- I don't know where these come from, but I was moving things around while you were editing. I am done with this page, so it's safe to change them. Potapych (talk) 15:46, 21 March 2009 (UTC)
- I usedthe lowest pressures recorded in the raw data files from HURDAT. Unless you have a reliable source for those pressures, they can't be used as it is OR. (comment by Cyclonebiskit) 32.138.57.84 (talk) 17:04, 21 March 2009 (UTC)
- Crazy, do you know where those are from? The strongest storm is disputed between #1 and #4 (and I'm leaning toward #1). Potapych (talk) 01:32, 25 March 2009 (UTC)
- They used the standard rules from the measurements in the Reanalysis files, although you're right, the ≤(listed lowest) makes more sense. CrazyC83 (talk) 18:58, 30 November 2009 (UTC)
