A longer storm history if possible. I'd say it's a mid to high Start Class article, but that's just me. íslenska hurikein #12 (samtal) 17:53, 16 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Agreed. More info in general would be good. Hurricanehink (talk) 19:03, 16 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Name

[edit]

"1947 October Hurricane" is a truly awful name given that there were two hurricanes in October 1947. Just about anything would be better.--Nilfanion (talk) 16:14, 15 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I tried 1947 Florida Hurricane but a redirect to that name prevented me from moving the article on to the mainspace. Storm05 16:15, 15 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]
And besides just simply naming the storm as Hurricane Eight (1947) is just an equally awful name as this. Storm05 16:16, 15 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Merge?

[edit]

This article does not have enough information to exist and should be merged. For example, the section on Project Cirrus is a direct copy-and-paste of a section at Project Stormfury, including the fact that the references don't have titles or dates or anything in that section. The rest could be used to flesh out the section in the season article. Miss Madeline | Talk to Madeline 23:35, 18 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

No theres enough infomation in this article for this to stay. Storm05 12:10, 19 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I agree, I'll merge it. There's no content that's on here that's nowhere else. Hurricanehink (talk) 19:19, 19 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Wrong, the seasonal article is for a breif descrition of the storm and its impact. Any detailed infomation should made into a separate article (the 10-12 line limit still applies). Storm05 13:02, 20 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]
10-12 line limit? Where? Don't create arbitary limits. I agree for a merge. – Chacor 13:43, 20 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]
The 10-12 line limit was stated a long time ago back in 2005 (i dont know where, probably in the project page). Anyway, I added more infomation to the article. Storm05 13:46, 20 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Wrong, the seasonal article is for an adequate description of the hurricane. The whole article could be trimmed to two paragraphs without minimal loss of information. Detailed information can also be in the season article. I don't know where you have the 10-12 line limit idea from, but if the article is stubby, it should be merged, this is stubby. Hurricanehink (talk) 13:46, 20 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Wrong, this aticle has three paragraphs which is not stubby. Storm05 13:48, 20 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Please stop - this includes Hink - terming every single comment by the opposition as "wrong", where possible, unless they really are wrong. In this case, I have to say that I have seen absolutely no mention of a "10-12 line limit" for seasonal articles, to me that seems very arbitrary. There is no additional useful information that can't be in the seasonal article (one paragraph is a total fork of another article as noted above). – Chacor 13:51, 20 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Even if its a fork, i added more infomation from the internet. Storm05 13:54, 20 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

OK, I merged it, with little to no loss of data. Hurricanehink (talk) 20:30, 20 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]
