Picture date problem

[edit]

Change the date on the picture of Gionfriddo from January 1948 to October 5, 1947. The picture was taken on October 5, 1947 and put in a January 1948 magazine. 1779Days (talk) 08:30, 14 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

The Game 4 (Cookie Game) subsection posits that the intentional walk to Reiser (who scored the winning run) in the bottom of the ninth comprised questionable/poor strategy. This may be so. This subsection reads that the move 'was criticized in hindsight'. No support/citation accompanies this statement. If this is, or was, an author/editor's opinion, indicate with different language. An assertion that something 'was criticized' needs citation, support. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Thegooddogman (talkcontribs) 04:06, 20 April 2013 (UTC) Also, citation, source, support, regarding Reiser injury could/would help reader.Thegooddogman (talk) 04:12, 20 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

The Game 6 subsection asserts that circumstances of situation forced Gionfriddo to back-pedal rather than turn around. Turning around and running takes less time than it does to back-pedal, especially when a ball is hit several steps away. The assertion that the ball Gionfriddo caught "was hit so hard and deep" that he "did not have time to turn around" and "literally ha[d] to 'back-back-back'-pedal" is unsupported, probably because it is unsupportable. I think that this line really detracts from an otherwise informative subsection, and, for these reasons, urge removal of this particular line. Thegooddogman (talk) 04:25, 20 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]
