Magnitude

[edit]

There is quite some variation in the magnitude of the strongest shock in the sequence from the various sources available. Lavecchia et al.(2007) give 5.5 Mw, but get that from Anderson & Jackson (1987) (which I don't have access to), The Italian CFTI5 catalogue has it as 6.5 Me and ISC has it as 6.4 Mw, a value used in the ANSS catalogue. As ever it's probably best to discuss the range of published values in the article. Mikenorton (talk) 22:26, 26 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

What is the title of the 1987 paper? Dawnseeker2000 18:00, 27 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Active tectonics of the Adriatic Region, Helen Anderson James Jackson, first published: December 1987 https://doi.org/10.1111/j.1365-246X.1987.tb01675.x. Mikenorton (talk) 18:05, 27 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry, thanks for trying, but that link doesn't work for me. Would you mind emailing me a copy? Mikenorton (talk) 19:18, 27 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Here, try this one. Should have suspected there would be an issue that that long link that stated "token=" right in the URL. You can retrieve the file now by locating the text "PDF" near the summary. Dawnseeker2000 04:25, 28 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks, at first read it's not clear where it's quoted magnitudes for the Belice sequence come from. I'll take another look when I've got a bit more time. Mikenorton (talk) 11:15, 28 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
