Draft Pick Trades
[edit]Anyone have a complete list of draft pick trades? I think the first 14 pick are as is for now, but I now some playoff bound teams gave up their picks at the deadline (Nashville -? Philadelphia), Edmonton has the Isles and Ducks). See 2006-07_NHL_transactions and 2005-06_NHL_transactions. ccwaters 20:59, 10 April 2007 (UTC)
Other 1st round trades:
- Edmonton Oilers (from Anaheim Ducks Acquired with Joffrey Lupul, Ladislav Smid, a 2nd round pick in 2008, and a conditional 1st round pick in 2008 from the Anaheim Ducks for Chris Pronger on July 3, 2007)
notes
[edit]Where is San Jose getting 2 picks to trade?
- must be trade with NJ on Oct 1. Who gets what pick?
- going by this mock draft http://www.sportscity.com/NHL-2007-Mock-Draft —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Ccwaters (talk • contribs) 14:12, 8 May 2007 (UTC).
- Hmm... Hockeysfuture has these picks (22 and 26) differently. http://hockeysfuture.com/nhl_entry_draft/

What are the conditions of the other Chris Pronger pick in 2008?
- If Anaheim reaches the Stanley Cup Final in either 2007, 2008 or 2009, the Oilers get Anaheim's first overall pick the following year. So if Anaheim beats Detroit in the current Western Conference Final, the Oilers will have Anaheim's first AND second round picks in 2008. (Source: Edmonton Journal) Matthew McCallum 17:28, 22 May 2007 (UTC)
What are conditions (and round) of Anaheim's trade with the Rangers on August 23, 2005 (involving Steve Rucchin)?
- The deal was Anaheim would get a second round pick in 2007 if Rucchin re-signed with NY Rangers and a fourth round pick in 2007 if he did not re-sign with the Blueshirts. Rucchin signed with Atlanta in the summer of 2006, so the compensation is NY's 2007 fourth round pick. FYI: The Rangers picked up Anaheim's fourth round pick in 2007 in the Petr Sykora deal, so the net effect is the two teams will swap positions in that round. (Source: Hockeysfuture.com) Matthew McCallum 17:28, 22 May 2007 (UTC)
Ditto for their trade with Phoenix (involving Mike Leclerc)?
- Like the Rucchin deal, it was a second round pick in 2007 if he re-signed with the Coyotes and a fourth round pick in 2007 if he was not re-signed by the Desert Dogs. Phoenix traded him to Calgary midseason in 2005-06, so the compensation should be Phoenix's 2007 fourth round pick. (Source: Hockeysfuture.com) Matthew McCallum 17:28, 22 May 2007 (UTC)
- Thanks for your help. Do you have any insight as to picks 22 and 26 (both SJ trades)? ccwaters 18:19, 22 May 2007 (UTC)

Number of rounds?
[edit]Is it seven or nine rounds? Either way it should be mentioned in the article. AEJ 10:39, 30 May 2007 (UTC)
- 7 (rounds 2 through 7 are held on the 23rd). http://bluejackets.nhl.com/team/app/?service=page&page=NHLPage&id=3764 ccwaters 12:57, 30 May 2007 (UTC)
Traded picks
[edit]I can't believe people started deleting the mentions of the traded draft picks: That is very important to understand the draft. It is very important to explain how did Edmonton end up with 3 first round picks. The information was there... Anyway, we should put it back.--Serte [ Talk · Contrib ] 10:49, 23 June 2007 (UTC)
Is it vanRiemsdyk or Van Riemsdyk? (topic moved from James Van Riemsdyk)
[edit]I've noticed that most media reports are using vanRiemsdyk. --207.69.140.25 12:39, 23 June 2007 (UTC)
- James vanRiemsdyk according to NHL.com, so I think we should move that page and change stuff.--Serte [ Talk · Contrib ] 12:41, 23 June 2007 (UTC)
Extra pick in round two?
[edit]Why does Round 2 have 31 picks? − Twas Now ( talk • contribs • e-mail ) 11:52, 16 August 2007 (UTC)
- Pick #42 was the extra one that was originally awarded to the Wild. ccwaters 13:28, 16 August 2007 (UTC)
Fair use rationale for Image:NHLdraft2007.PNG
[edit]Image:NHLdraft2007.PNG is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.
