2010 Champions League Final on FOX Network television in the United States

[edit]

Should it be mentioned that this will be the first time the Champions League Final will be broadcasted on HD on the FOX Network in the United States? (link) It could be a history making event that could shatter football ratings in the US. Just a thought. - LaFuzion (talk) 22:02, 30 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Such an addition would probably require the addition of a "Broadcasting" section. Normally, I wouldn't have a problem with that, but the chances are that users will take the opportunity to add the name of the broadcaster in Vanuatu or Tajikistan, which I believe would be entirely inappropriate. – PeeJay 22:32, 30 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
It's there a way we can restrict it so that only the major broadcasters are added? I think this Final will garner some of the highest viewerships to date and it would be a good thing to tag it along. - LaFuzion (talk) 22:39, 30 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Perhaps only the broadcasters for the major English-speaking countries (UK, USA, Canada, South Africa, Australia and New Zealand) and the big European nations (France, Germany, Italy and Spain) should be included. What do you think? – PeeJay 22:47, 30 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I concur. Also include Russia in case CSKA Moscow would to advance and that will round out the countries still participating in the tournament. - LaFuzion (talk) 22:55, 30 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Fair enough. Of course, all of these broadcasters will have to be referenced. I believe UEFA.com has a few news articles about broadcasters so I'll see if I can find them for the countries we've mentioned. – PeeJay 22:57, 30 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

bayern kits

[edit]

bayern will definitely NOT play in the kits shown (the all-red ones). most likely they will use the new red-and-white-stripe kits. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 91.15.143.61 (talk) 09:56, 20 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Bayern will play in the new red and white jerseys, see here: http://www.fcbayern.t-home.de/de/aktuell/news/2010/23561.php —Preceding unsigned comment added by ChryZ MUC (talkcontribs) 19:17, 21 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Time

[edit]

It is not noted at what time the match will be played. 130.161.249.167 (talk) 17:07, 20 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Yes it is. – PeeJay 23:28, 20 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

How about just saying Inter?

[edit]

Either use the full name, or use just Inter or Inter Milan. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 193.71.107.242 (talk) 17:30, 21 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

We will certainly not be using "Inter Milan" because it is an awful bastardisation. "Internazionale" will do just fine, thank you. – PeeJay 22:53, 21 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Man of the Match

[edit]

Sneijder, not Milito....
F.Pavkovic (talk) 22:41, 22 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Is that an official award or just fans coming up with an average score? --Mkativerata (talk) 22:44, 22 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Inter's First Goal

[edit]

Inter's first goal was not from a goal kick but from a backpass cleared by the keeper. PLease do not rely on what Irish American commentators tell you. It is significant that the ultimate in defensive tactics - the back pass - led directly to a goal. Summarised the whole game. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 220.253.2.42 (talk) 10:06, 23 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

First European Cup/Champions League final with a foreign starting eleven

[edit]
(cross posted to main competition article talk page)

This info was completely removed for being 'unsourced' [1]. The fact there were no Italians in Inter's starting lineup was obviously simply true, and I'm pretty sure this being a 'first' in the history of the competition is also pretty indisputable. A citation needed tag would have sufficed for both of these facts. This was found in a few minutes to support the obvious fact, and while I can't find a more reliable source than this in the few minutes I have available now, I'd be amazed if one doesn't exist. If someone with more time finds a better source, it really should be restored. MickMacNee (talk) 20:35, 24 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
