Need assistance with this

[edit]

Hi everyone. Does anyone know how to get the season effects page where it needs to be. It might be me, but I se it under refs, but as it go into the edit, its shows it's in the correct place... any ideas?

I'm seeing it correctly on my end so it might be just you. Have you tried with another browser/device?(you forgot your signature by the way) Yvan Part (talk) 16:15, 15 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Damage

[edit]

I think that the damage caused by Boris should be a bit above moderate now ThatCzechGuy (talk) 12:03, 16 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Are descriptions somehow defined or are they solely based on anybodies Opinion? What do we do when Damage is greater than with Boris or Cassandra? If possible the Damage should be described in the nominal Value. Damages which aren´t described by that would probably be minor or moderate. Though its questionable if we find Numbers for Bosnia by Cassandra. 185.13.31.131 (talk) 05:40, 10 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Move discussion in progress

[edit]

There is a move discussion in progress on Talk:2024 Central European floods which affects this page. Please participate on that page and not in this talk page section. Thank you. —RMCD bot 10:38, 20 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Damage Categories

[edit]

I mentioned it at a previous comment but i guess it requires an own Topic.

I think the Damage Categories (presumably minor, moderate, major, catastrophic) are not only broad but also exaggerated. We can certainly discuss if we can call the Floods in Poland/Czechia and later in Bosnia as Catastrophic Damage. But i would not call the others catastrophic or major. The highest Categories should be reserved for the really worst Storms we have. That is widespread destruction (not only damage) which usually also leads to a high Number of deaths. Storm Daniel of 2023 falls without any doubt into that Category. Presumably also Daria 1990 (known as Burn´s Day Storm), Lothar 1999, Kyrill 2007 and Xynthia 2010. Even though i think there is still a big difference between these and Daniel, Vincinette (1962, Hamburg Flood) and the 1953 North Sea Flood.

Interestingly "Catastrophic" wasn´t used for a single Storm last season, even though Bettina, Babet and especially Ciaran were high impact Events. So the categories lack a sense of consistency. And we need that here. 2A02:810B:1040:5230:9C94:9FA8:4E22:54AA (talk) 18:45, 11 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Article for Irina Low

[edit]

It seems that Leslie’s remnant low merged with another extratropical low which brought flooding to France and Italy. Should we make an article about the Irina low storm (not Storm Leslie) instead? Jpuxfrd (talk) 16:37, 3 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

yeah sure Joseph Ca98 (talk) 18:17, 3 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I would support developing a draft, but Leslie would probably need a few mentions within it. Shmego2 (talk) 00:42, 4 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
i think that would be the worst mistake for someone to make. so yeah Joseph Ca98 (talk) 00:54, 4 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
