As I mentioned here and here, we seem to be very starved for free-license photographs of this event. The only one actually shown is of the Sydney Opera House lit up... but of course the key feature of it is that there are big photographs projected onto the surface, and those photographs themselves are copyrighted by a commercial source. @Robin S. Taylor I'm afraid we're always starved for free-license photographs of royal events. You raise a good point about the photographs projected on the Opera House themselves being copyrighted. I personally am quite frankly rather unfamiliar with our image rights policy, so if that's something that (understandably) concerns you I would recommend bringing it up on WP:COMMONS. estar8806 (talk) ★ 20:05, 23 October 2024 (UTC)

My expectations have been gradually rising over the last few years as it was possible to get a decent number of photographs from the last few troopings of the colour, state openings of Parliament and sundry other events (e.g. the D-Day Commemorations), mostly through governmental and parliamentary Flickr accounts but also from some generous members of the public. Unfortunately it seems Australia is lagging some way behind Britain in this respect - public websites have precious few photographs of anything most of those are NCND.

I'll just have to pray that the Samoan part of the tour gets some snaps by the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office! Robin S. Taylor (talk) 21:31, 23 October 2024 (UTC)

Hi just a quick one if your looking for photos try having a look on the NSW Government website and the PM and Cabinet and I believe the NSW Governors website, all images on there unless stated are able to be used under a commons licence. Knowledgework69 (talk) 16:14, 24 October 2024 (UTC)

Peter Ormond has uploaded six photographs from that site. I have migrated them to the Commons, though I have a sneaking suspicion that at least some of them will turn out to be from commercial sources and thus not the NSW Government's to give away. Robin S. The King's Medals
