Cancelled?

[edit]

There have been messages posted on forums and facebook that this subject is defunct, and the 2013 event is cancelled. Now my present issue is that there is no non-primary reliable source that verifies whether the 2013 is in fact cancelled, however, as pointed out by an IP editor the event calendar for the Anaheim Convention Center does not show the convention on its schedule, which is the closest thing we have to a reliable source, but to speculate would be original research so is definitely not something that is allowed in the article space. Assistance to find an RS would be appreciated.--RightCowLeftCoast (talk) 21:12, 9 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for bringing this up, because it needed to be done. Unfortunately, one of the weaknesses of Wikipedia is going to come to light due to this issue. I have attempted to look into this issue extensively, there are no sources that would come close to meeting RS that I could find. One Con Blog has covered this issue and that's it. Most of this started at animecons.com when they marked the event as canceled, debate has continued on Facebook, the conventions forums, and Twitter. Right now the convention chair is MIA. I'm not sure were going to have a easy solution to this problem. Esw01407 (talk) 22:52, 9 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I've commented out the contested future dates in the table. I think we can avoid the issue of whether or not the event was cancelled until we get a better source. Lesser Cartographies (talk) 00:56, 10 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]
